The light going westbound on 102nd thru the Seminole Blvd intersection is also mis-timed. I've seen it stay green for less than 10 seconds allowing for only a few cars to get through.

We have installed a new traffic adaptive software system on Seminole Boulevard.

You may notice that the signal does not operate in the same patterns as you are used to seeing. This does not mean that the signal is malfunctioning. When the system is fully functional, the traffic signal phases will be serviced according to demand and will work within the programmed parameters we have set.. You may even see traffic phases that have higher demand being serviced twice within a cycle.

We have been working to transition all of the traffic signals from Lark Lane to 54th Avenue N. as quickly as possible. We are monitoring these intersections and are making adjustments as needed. We thank you for your comments and patience during this transition.

Thank you for your reply. I was afraid this might be your answer though. I do believe you will continue to see the frustration level of the drivers at these intersections grow. Everyone has a desire to get where they are going in a timely manner.

This morning it took me 12 minutes to go from the intersection at 113th street and 102nd ave to even approach the light at 102nd Ave and Seminole Blvd. Once I got to the light I could see that eastbound/westbound traffic on 102nd Ave only had 30 second lights, while northbound/southbound traffic on Seminole boulevard had 4 MINUTES, but only had the traffic to support 60 seconds. This added 15 minutes to my route which would normally take 3 minutes at best to navigate this small section of roadway.

I had the same experience as person above (This morning it took me 12 minutes to go from the intersection at 113th street and 102nd ave to even approach the light at 102nd Ave and Seminole Blvd. ) ---- I've also seen the comment above the "new System" ---- Why has this system been implemented before as you admit in your comment it is "fully functional"????

I also sat through the light at 102nd for 3 cycles this morning. This new "adaptive" system has doubled my commute time! While I'm sure this technology will result in improvements to the traffic on Seminole Blvd, it is negatively impacting the traffic on the cross streets. What about the increased demand on 102nd during peak hours? Is the software adapting to this as well?

I agree that side street driving with this "new" adaptive software is impacted to the negative! My drive commute has increased in time , and that is using mostly the main streets too!

We know the issue has not been resolved. It was closed accidentally.

Our timing consultant has made more adjustments and will continue to do so until the problems are resolved.

Pinellas County has successfully installed the same traffic adaptive software on over 100 other intersections in the county. In the past there were a few minor issues that were easily fine tuned within a few days after turning on the new system.

Due to recurring and intermittent detection and software issues we have turned off the new software at Seminole Blvd at 102nd Ave. and Seminole Blvd at Park Blvd.

We will continue to work on resolving these issues offline and not reinstall the software until we can be assured of an easier transition for the motoring public.
