What can neighbors do about this property...the amount of trash the kids leave outside is getting out of control its starting to blow into my property...not to mention their new cats are starting to use my yard as their liter box.

It seems to me that not much can be done for the city to stop these people from having trash blow around. If I were you, I would fence (privacy) my yard in so none of their trash blows into your property not to mention the kids and their ugly yard. As for the cats, you need to call Animal Control at 641-421-3636 press 0, and ask for Pat Gansen because these cats are AT LARGE, which is illegal, against the law.

You can remain Anonymous when you call Animal Control. Also call Animal Control when you see the cats AT LARGE.

Can a person do anything about kids using there neighbors decks and retaining wall for there play grounds? And trash doesnt get blown in my yard it gets dropped when they walk threw. I hate complaing buts its out of control. And also is that van ever going to move because its been there for almost two years and not moved once.

Dwd1991, you need to call the police at 641-421-3636 and press 0. Have the police tell the parents / guardians to not have their kids in your yard or they will be charged with trespassing. When you see their kids on your property again, call the police and have the parents / guardians charged with trespassing. As for the van, I don't think anything can be done about it. You can ask the police about it when you call them about the kids in your yard.

Nuisance has been abated. In response to a question concerning the van in the driveway, it complies with city code and has a valid Iowa license until October 1, 2015. Jim Sberal

Jim, this nuisance has NOT been abated. There is still a white milk jug in the back yard, a pop bottle on the back porch by the grasssy area to the west, a tipped over garbage can with garbage in it on the back porch, scattered fast food paper products along and in the front driveway, and some scattered white garbage in the front yard. This is not the first time you have closed a garbage issue at this address that was not abated. You need to inspect this property before you close the issue instead of accepting their lie.

I agree with above. Mess has not been cleaned up. Walked past there just last night and saw McD trash in the yard. As well as string cheese wrappers and other random left overs from their kids.

It has now been a little over a week since this issue was reopened. Why hasn't the city cleaned this property up?

Jim and Pat, I have a proposal for you to consider. Since these people do not like to pick up their own garbage, let it blow around to other neighbor's yards, and the kids drop their garbage in other people's yards, then I propose that the city clean up their garbage from their yard and all the neighbor's yards once a week and bill them on a weekly basis. I think if you do that then they would get tired of paying the city's bill and finally keep their garbage in the garbage bags and put it out every Monday. When you look at all the garbage complaints at this address, this has been going on since 8-3-20012, that is 3 years !!!!!

Here is an example that they do NOT take out their garbage every week. There is a garbage can full of garbage with no lid on it that has been on their back porch all weekend along with a garbage sack next to it and they are still there. Today is Monday, garbage day, and the garbage has been picked up, but they never took out their garbage. This is one example that they do not take care of their own garbage and that the city needs to clean up their garbage from their yard and all the neighbor's yards once a week and bill them on a weekly basis.

Please take care of this issue.

What is being done about the gabage issue at this address? The garbage can and garbage bag is still there. There is still garbage in the yard. Have you taken the proposal into consideration?

There are three complaints about the garbage issues at this address. Why are they still open? Can you please declare this propety a Nusiance Property under the Nusiance Property Ordinance? Also can you take the proposal into action? Thank You
