Intersection at Jones Bridge Rd-Brookwood Rd/McGinnis Ferry Rd backs up with heavy traffic. Jones Bridge Rd needs to be widened from two lanes to four lanes and install a right turn lane to McGinnis Ferry Rd.
Thank you for submitting your request. It is logged as #15-0722-1579. One of our City staff will take a look at the issue. If we need further information we will contact you via email by posting on your SeeClickFix Issue.
The City of Johns Creek currently has a project to add a right turn lane on Jones Bridge Road northbound, turning onto McGinnis Ferry Road which should begin construction in September. In addition, Johns Creek is looking at a longer range project to widen Jones Bridge Road to 4 lanes from Douglas Road to McGinnis Ferry Road. This will align with the Forsyth County project, currently under design, to widen Brookwood Road to 4 lanes from McGinnis Ferry Road to SR 141/Peachtree Parkway which they anticipate beginning construction early next year.
Why has the Jones Bridge Rd widening project been put on hold by the City Council? This is a Tier 1 project approved by the council back in 2016. What is the status of the project? This widening should have been done on the same timeline as Forsyth County widening Brookwood Rd.
Good morning. Questions for City Council can be emailed to ElectedOfficials@johnscreekga.gov . Please only use SeeClickFix/JC Fix It to report maintenance issues. Thank you.
