Description
The traffic light at north st and north ave does not change for bicycles when they are westbound on north street. Please adjust the sensor ASAP to be more sensitive and give bikers a green light. Currently bikers have to maneuver unsafely to the sidewalk to press the walk button- I see this on a daily basis and have heard many complaints from fellow bikers. Thank you!

The "skewered cyclist" symbol [AKA Bicycle Signal Actuation (R10-22) sign and the associated pavement marking] should also be painted over the most sensitive spot(s) for the inductive loop to guide people riding bikes to the best place to put their bikes in order to trigger this device. Thanks!

For cyclists attempting to trigger these detectors positioning can be important. If the location of the loop is obvious (i.e. you can still see the cuts made to lay the loop) this article can help you determine where best to locate your bike:

Unfortunately if the loops where laid when the road was paved or it has since been re-paved having the proper signage and road markings is really the only way to be sure of positioning :-/
