There may be a 1920's doorknob worth saving so the Treasurer thinks it is worth saving and someone may want to rebuild around it!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention and big THANKS to neighbors looking out for the kids. This property is currently out for bid for the demolition process. We hope to award a contract within a month and then the full process can begin.

This has been the answer for years now, words do not mean anything if nothing is done.

I totally agree Betty, come to find out the neighbor that took his time to secure this home wasted his time because ICLB took it all out and now there are druggies frequenting the home again at night. Our safety is a big concern. The home has had thing fall into other neighbors property and the lady had a huge nail/tack go into her foot and her children are not allowed to play in their entire yard because of this, not to mention since buying their home " next to this one" due to the mold coming from this falling down safety hazard her child is having to due breathing treatments every night it causing health related issues.

Ingham County Land Bank Executive Director Jeff Burdick will be at 1117 Dakin Street at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 3 to talk further about demolition plans, timeline and other concerns. Please feel free to share this information with other neighbors who may want to attend.

As a note, the boards that neighbors put on the property to secure it have been removed by the Land Bank so that abatement contractors can get into the house and abate any hazardous materials prior to the scheduled demolition. The house should be secure now in a way that also allows abatement to be completed.
