Hi all, council member Washington was in attendance at our annual block party last Saturday. I wonder which street she used to get to Horace Mann school. If it was congress avenue between high and fairfax, she experienced the awful condition of our street! I wonder if the street she has to use to return to her home is in similar conndition? Just wondering?

One resident living on Congress told me that they were injured walking into a pothole and another resident living on a different part of Congress told me the same, but it was their relative that was injured. Parents and their kids cross the street on Congress to get to and from Horace Mann Elementary School. We all deserve a safer street.

Anyone have an update on this issue? I live on vicksburg Ave which branches off of congress and I take fairfax instead when getting home due to the off road condition of congress.

Please attend a special budget meeting at City Hall this coming Monday, June 19th, at 5 PM at City Hall to voice your support on resurfacing Congress Avenue.

Out of our meeting back in the fall of 2015, Annie Campbell-Washington added Congress Avenue resurfacing to the proposed budget. Many recommended items ended up getting cut, but it seems that there might be a good chance for Congress Avenue to make it in the budget if we can turn out people for this particular meeting.

Hope to see lots of neighbors at the meeting!

Update: The meeting will start at 5:30 pm and our time to speak will probably be completed by 6:15 pm. The meeting will be held at City Hall in the City Council Chambers, 3rd Floor. Please attend! :-)
