Yes, and if you talk to the Aldan Police, they will look you in the eye & deny there are speeders. I have complained about the speeding problem on my block of Clifton ave, & that is what they did. The entire boro tax bill could be covered by the number of tickets they could write if they would just set a couple speed traps.
People fly down Springfield Road & onto Clifton Ave doing 50 mph & they do nothing. Let's just wait til another child gets killed, like little George years ago.

In peoples defense, where else in this county do you see a school zone sign that looks like that? It is a bit confusing. If it was a white and yellow sign like all the others then people would know for sure.

There is no school. There is no school zone. The signs are placed there by the borough, and are not sanctioned by the state. The signs should be removed.

Harris is not on Clifton. If Collingdale wants the school zone, it has to be approved by the DOT. There is no approved school zone on Clifton Ave. in Collingdale. The signs are ambiguous and should be removed, unless the DOT says otherwise.
The sings that are there are very misleading. The flashing lights are not school zone lights. I hope no one is getting tickets for this. There are plenty of crossing guards all along Clifton Ave. to handle the kids going to whichever school they are trying to reach.

In response to notalawyerhonest - there IS an active school zone on Clifton Avenue. Feel free to call the borough and the local police department (I have called both about this issue). As far as having the school zone signs updated to avoid confusion, I was told that there is no confusion and there are no speeding problems. There are "normal" penndot school zone signs on Clifton Ave identifying the school zone heading from Hibberd towards Bartram, however, the signs in the opposite direction are old, rusted, and not recognized by anyone as being school zone signs.

Harris school zones are a problem. Speeders every morning flying up Sharon Ave. From 7-9am and 2-4pm, Sharon Ave near Harris is one way. Yet they drive whatever way they feel like. Twice this year alone someone nearly crashed into a school bus. There is no parking in front of Harris, yet there are cars parked in front of there all day long. I have asked for the police to come by and haven't seen anything happen.
The school zone and one way signs on Sharon and rusted and have grafitti all over them.
