Description
There is a huge pot hole in the road. We have reported it to the land owner and the realtor for our development for over a year now with no response and nothing resolved/fixed. The road is going to be non-passable extremely soon which leaves people to drive through peoples yards to get around it. This is unexceptable!!!! The hole is so huge, it would damage the front end of a car, ruin tires etc., and in this economy a lot of us can't afford to pay to have fixed/replaced. Please help us get this resolved in our neighborhood. Cameo Lane is off of Calico Road in Gamewell, the name of the development is Burkshire Estates Phase 1 & 2. Also, this isn't a state maintained road. We do know the land owner is Mike Lackey, the realtor is Debra Trivette 828-292-1440.

Hi Lisa,
I am sorry that it has been so long and that this problem is not fixed yet. I have been trying to investigate who is responsible for maintaining the road. The town of Gamewell has been notified, but they don't seem to be responding. Is there an email address associated with the company in charge of the development that we could add to the Watchers who receive notifications about this issue? Right now its just the town.
Thanks for your patience, and I hope we can help get this problem fixed!
Best,
Zak

Lisa,
Once again, I'm sorry that we aren't able to do more on our end. It's more complicated when a road is the responsibility of a private citizen / company.
Have you considered contacting a local newspaper and drawing some attention to what seems to be a negligent developer? That would probably get him/her shaking in their boots.
Best,
Zak

Lisa,
What newspaper covers the Gamewell area? I have contact information here:
http://www.newstopic.net/pages/contact_us
for the News-Topic, but that's in Lenoir and I'm not sure if it's the right one. I agree with Zak that a little publicity could help push a recalcitrant property owner towards taking action.
