This property is listed for sale at 1.5 million; shouldn't the owner spend soome money on maintenance?

This property diminishes the value of all of us who live and own property nearby. Supposedly the ground is contaminated. It is long overdue that the City take action against this delinquent property owner.

Owners and residents of adjacent properties supported having the block rezoned residential so as to allow the owners of the building to convert the building to apartments. I worry very much that that is hurting the situation now, but there is no question that the current owners should be obligated to not let the property deteriorate the way it's been going for the last four years.

Ninety days and a few emails to LCI later (all emails unanswered, by the way) and no response from the city. The property continues to deteriorate - I see more evidence of breaking into the gray house most times I walk by. What can we do about this, neighbors? Does any one know who would actually be responsive from LCI? Anyone know if Carmen Mendez is still the East Rock "neighborhood specialist"? I want to put my call in to the right person and not a full voicemail.

This issue has been resolved. The property is slated for development.
