Code enforcement is a joke. the web page says it's not code but the enforcers think this is petty and pencil whip it

Prohibitions. No person or agent thereof shall cause or permit the parking, maintenance, storage or placement of:
(1) Any vehicle at any place within the front yard other than the driveway, except that one vehicle may be parked adjacent to and parallel to the driveway so long as it otherwise complies with local ordinances and is parked on a paved or usable and durable surface.

Yup that's the front yard. Not even close to the driveway and its on the side setback!

I am in 100% agreement that this should not be allowed and is a blemish on the entire neighborhood that will drop everyone's property values. This isn't a rural area with lots on acreage; the RV is right on the neighbor's property line and looks terrible. That said, the pdf page referenced fooled me too. The Code enforcement rep pointed out that it is a PROPOSED amendment that apparently did not pass into law. That said, there might be a Case that the Concrete pad has been placed both within the side setback (possibly the front setback also) and over the utility easement. I would think a Concrete pad would be Considered a permanent stricture and would guess that it is not allowed to be placed over the utility easement. Any luck with that argument?

This sucks for the immediate neighbors and the neighborhood as a whole. If there is no Code that Can help, maybe we Can form a HOA and at least prevent anything similar in the future?

Is that RV longer than 21 feet? If so, this seems to be current/active code:

It's more than 21'. Wow. False information on a government web site? That can't be. You would think the county commissioners would act on that. Poor code man must be tired of this. You'd think he'd pass all this onto them.

But then again it's not really a driveway. If it was the concrete would go all the way to the street and have an approach with flairs. That would require a permit.

Hands down, the most petty, obnoxious, trouble-making, and conflict aroused neighbors I've ever had the unfortunate privilege of ever having to remain within a conversation with. I'm a bit ashamed that I live within the vicinity to such a nightmarish neighbor who finds that their lives are so contently and perfectly compartmentalized that they must bring it upon themselves to get into everyone else's business. Affect property values in the neighborhood? Are you serious, or are you just desperately trying to gain the attention of a public county worker in an attempt to have them pity your self-righteous perspective? Talk to your neighbors, get to know them; they're actually really nice people, and I'm sure you'll have more positive results dealing with neighbors face to face, as opposed to anonymously filing multiple frivolous complaints.....You attract more bees with a spoonful of honey than a gallon of vinegar...... You really need to get out of the house more neighbor... If you have enough time to look up Pinellas county code enforcement, surely you have enough time to reintroduce yourself as a decent person/neighbor and start over on another foot as opposed to shoving it directly in your mouth.....

It was a deed restricted community when we moved in. I wonder if the deed restrictions still apply with the HOA dissolved.

And to the anonymous guest. I am a nice neighbor. The not nice neighbors parked RVs and boats in their front yard.

We get out plenty drive by that RV and boat down the street everyday. Looks like hell.

It is not a violation to have an RV parked on your property. As long as the RV is not longer then 40 ft., is tagged and operable there is no violation.

To the reasonable person with "Common Sense"...it's your neighborhood, It's your property value, AND your investment!! "Common Sense indeed!" Sure hope you don't have to sell your house anytime soon!!! No person with any "common sense" would buy a house with that wonderful view! You let one person do it and before you know it...you live with all kinds of boats, trailers, modules, etc.!! As far as the people, I'm sure they are wonderful people. This isn't about them "Common Sense"! You are taking this out of perspective!! This is about the neighborhood, property values of all the houses in the neighborhood! We all want as much money as possible from the sales of our homes. "Common Sense" have you heard of "Curb appeal"? Look "Common Sense, all I'm saying is: If you start to let this kind of traffic in your neighborhood, your asking for lower income housing!! THIS IS JUST "COMMON SENSE"!!!!

Nice people care for their lawns and how their neighbors care. There had been a lot of improvement in the neighborhood the last seven years and values have increased. The house across the street from them is up for $244k. Only person who would buy that would put a trailer on it. I wouldn't buy it with the eyesore next door.

If you have a complaint about this home and the RV parked on the lawn or the boats around the development. Don't bother the nice folks at code enforcement. Please contact Mr. David Eggers at the County Board of Commisioners. At deggers@pinellascounty.org. We will try to have the ordinance change to recognize the fact that boat and RV owners who park on the lawn are a minority representation of the owners who care and park their toys behind their frontage, in the garage or in a storage yard ($50-75 a month).
