Description

In 1892 one of the earliest Scientific method digs in the Country was done by Professor Charles Willoughby at this location. They partially uncovered a 7 to 8 thousand year old Prehistoric Red Paint People Burial. The Original report from Willoughby describes this exact Spot. The Mill has been sold for Scrap and the Waste treatment plant is being demolished. The Maine Preservation refuses to consider this area described and basis their location under a Steam Turbine that was built on the tidal flow mud flats. That location has been far to disturbed for them to bother to save it. The actual knoll the waste treatment is built on hardly disturbed beyond the concrete pads that were built over the graves. All involved are ignoring the laws that determine Native American Burials. They are looking the other way to expedite the demolition and hopeful new business that will buy the land and build further.
