Update from the Codes Compliance Department: a case was already opened and investigated for this reported address - the trailer on the side of the house was found to be in a legal location. Any further updates or action will be handled by the Codes department. To read the notes of the case, or to find contact information for the assigned investigator, click here:
https://actiononline.stpete.org/Click2GovCE/casesearch.html?caseYear=15&caseNumber=16440
or call 727-893-7373 and refer to case number 15-16440.
In order for a Codes investigator to respond to an issue or complaint about something that cannot be legally viewed from the street, alley, or other public right-of-way, the owner of an adjacent property who can view the violation would need to call Codes directly at 727-893-7373, give their name and contact information as part of the public record for the case, and agree to allow the investigator to visit and view the issue from their property.

How is this "domestic" utility trailer in a legal location? Please explain. It is not parked on a legally recognized driveway or legally recognized parking area. It has exceeded the"temporarily" parking exception, since a case was previously opened back on 7/31.
According to the city's "Parking in Residential Areas" brochure (http://www.stpete.org/code_enforcement/our_services/docs/WheretoPark08.pdf), it specifically states "Parking or storage of domestic equipment is not permitted in a front yard, on a corner lot within a street side yard, or in a waterfront yard."
In addition, a Codes investigator can legally view the trailer from the sidewalk or street as evident in the photo (issue id #1895515) posted by an anonymous SeeClickFix user on 9/4/2015.

My question to the one who posted this is: Have you asked George to kindly move it?

Regardless of eyesore or not if code says it just has to be behind the face of the front of the building then that's what it needs to be.
You can't have it both ways when you say it can't be an eyesore I mean who's to say it's an eyesore and who's to say it might be art to him it may be considered art and therefore allowed in the front yard after all this is Kenwood and we have a lot of artistic people here with individual thoughts and plans and behaviors

Thank you for your past submission via SeeClickFix. The City of St Petersburg periodically reviews past reports that are made from citizens within our city limits, and in an effort to clean-up old issues that were resolved some time ago, we are marking as 'closed' those issues that were submitted in the past for which the work has been completed or the issue has otherwise been resolved.
If you think for any reason that the issue you submitted in the past might still be unresolved, please feel free to submit a new report with the SeeClickFix St. Pete website and we will make sure the issue is directed to the appropriate City department to be addressed as soon as possible.
Thank you again - Sincerely,
