The trees on the islands are also being uncared for, and left in a terrible state. The City seems so intent upon cutting down every tree, but if they took the time to prune them correctly, they would remain healthy and beautiful. Norton Parkway was once one of the most beautiful streets in New Haven. Now, we have dumb kid gangs spraying their inane graffiti all over our roads and power boxes and buildings, and a steady influx of homeowners who continually run down once-beautiful properties. (So much for Freddie Fixer.) How sad. People should be ashamed.
I'm closing this because it is from last year. If the grass is overgrown this summer, please open as a new issue using the "Parks request" issue category.

Unfortunately, LCI does not mow medians......
Please note, we do not cut right of ways, bridges, or medians.
DPW and Parks typically work together to handle the above.
The correct department will cut this in the near future.
