Per the city assessor's website, here's what the home looked like a few years ago. It's unknown when the photo was taken, but the website has it dated for May 2007.

Ron, No progress as far as I'm concerned has been seen on this property. I'm not sure how the owners next to it and across the street can look at it everyday. What needs to be done to get this taken care of? The surrounding streets do not need a boarded up place like this it only attracts the drug elements. I have been watching this home as well. Sam

This is crazy. These home that are under LLCs, or other corporations, tend to rot without any accountability. In Detroit, they're using private counsel to get these things situated. I'll explore a few more options.

Update: This house is now owned by the Ingham County Treasurer and is going to be auctioned off tomorrow as a tax foreclosure. We'll see what happens here -- it looks like may be subject to a demolition order as a condition of purchase. Check out page 31 (or 23 of 28) in the packet below.

There's appears to be a demolition order on the property, meaning the new owner may have to tear the house down. I'm not sure how this works, but it requires a $10,000 performance bond on the property act auction.

Not sure what the status is with this property? No changes in the physical appearance and no sign of life yet.

This was a tax foreclosure -- and was recently auctioned off. The person who bought this property was required to pay a $10,000 demolition bond. Neighbors say no progress has been seen to date. When can demolition be expected?

Found my paperwork and saw the picture. I remember visiting that dump. The parcel was in the auction bundle that did not sell. City Council needs to pass rejection resolution for us to put into Land Bank and get into Demoliton cycle for 2013.

Although the following link below is an agenda for a past Lansing City Council Committee on Development and Planning meeting, it contains the rejection resolution and parcels to be sent to the Ingham County Land Bank, if approved by Lansing City Council. (Everything starts on page 16 of 110.)

836 Dornell is listed on page 63 or 110. Another nearby parcel -- 4908 Delray -- is listed on page 64.

The Land Bank and City are working on funding for demolition. The Land Bank does own more homes that need to be demolished than we currently have funding to take down. A funding application from earlier this year only funded work at the former School for the Blind. We are working on several other funding opportunities. Cost on average $8,000 to take home down. We have additional funding applications coming up this fall from the State. Between Land Bank and Treasurer, with help from City funding, we have about 50 demolitions in works this year.

The Land Bank has about 240 structures in the City that are going through a review. Most will be demolished, but we want to see if the stronger housing market may make a few more saveable. We are also keeping an eye out for historic significance. Funding for all the demolition will be the ongoing project, but we have some solid options.
