Description
On Stevens Street between the cross walk to the middle school and Perolman Road people continually litter beer cans, Dunkin Donuts cups, nip bottles and other trash. The neighbors try to clean it up but it continues to look bad. It could help if no littering signs with a sustantial fine attached were placed on the North and southbound sides of the effected area of the street. Any assistance would be appreciated by the neighborhood

We typically do not put up signs like this. Part of the reason is that, to the best of our knowledge, the General Code for the City of Marlborough has no mechanism in place that allows for the fining of individuals for littering.
I would suggest that you may want to reach out to your city councilor and discuss what might be done from a grass roots approach. You live in Ward 6 and your councilor is Edward Clancy. He is very involved in conservation matters and I am sure would be happy to hear your concerns regarding this matter.
I know this doesn't fix the problem but I hope this is somewhat helpful.
