Mosquitos and flooding are terrible!! We pay county taxes here too, you know!!! i and other neighbors have called the county numerous times for years and NOTHING ever happens--as stated above--workers just LOOK!

I entered a service request about the mosquito problem in your area; our technician should be there within one working day depending on their work load. They will inspect the property and surrounding neighborhood to determine the source of the problem and will take the necessary action to correct the problem; whenever possible we try to target Mosquitoes in the aquatic juvenile stage to control them at the source.

If we cannot get into the property due to locked gates then please check for anything that may be holding rainwater as Mosquitoes will breed in them by the hundreds, we’ll be checking the area surrounding the property for anything that may be contributing to the problem and will take the necessary steps to eliminate or treat the source.

If you are at the property when the technician arrives then please take the opportunity to inform them of your concerns. If you are not at the property when they arrive a card will be left providing you with detailed information on our handling of your request and what we will do to monitor the area for any further problems that may develop.

This water condition has not been resolved. Rain water sits for two to three days after a moderate rain shower. With Zika problems being a major concern, why is the county just install a proper drain system. Maybe because we live in Crystal beach and it isn't that important. The rain from 8/4/16 is still on the roadway.

How can you close a case that has never even been addressed physically. I received a message from public works that simply informed me that the issue would be addressed when enough money from the Penny For Pinellas had been collected and funds available, The time line would be about two years. Thank you for your concerns and actions which is nothing. This really sad that the residents of Crystal Beach has to beg for services that our tax dollars are collected for.

What do you mean closed!?! It needs to be reopened because NOTHING was done to correct the problem of standing water. I can not deal with all the mosquitos and tracking the water into my garage. No One can stand outside in without being eaten alive from the mosquitoes. I am requesting this case be reopened and addressed properly. We are a great tax bed for the county here in Crystal Beach. We should be treated like other taxpayers. Thank you.

In addition to the new Work Request that has been created about this issue, we addressed the original SCF request and repaved that location back in August of 2016. We are sending out a Senior Field Coordinator to investigate the area again to see if any new issues have risen since then. Also, the entire area is scheduled to be repaved in 2020. You office replied earlier this year which read: Over the few past years, Pinellas County staff and elected officials have met with community residents and members of the Crystal Beach Community Association to discuss street repaving and the poor drainage issues in Crystal Beach. The Public Works Department prioritizes work based on the condition of the components measured during the inspection, condition of the surrounding infrastructure, potential for collateral damage, location and proximity to other projects. The Public Works Department is aware of the need for paving and drainage improvements in Crystal Beach. Paving of several roads is in our Pavement Preservation Program five year plan. Also, several Capital Improvement Project packages for drainage issues in Crystal Beach have been submitted for consideration as projects but funding is not available at this time. If funding for PENNY For PINELLAS is re-approved by voters, we would like to move forward with a more comprehensive set of drainage improvements to be coordinated with required paving in Crystal Beach.

Now that the Penny for Pinellas has been approved, will the Pinellas County Public Works start treat Crystal Beach as reliable taxpayers, and not as second class residents. The flooding and standing water at the intersection at Broadus and Pennsylvania has been a problem for more than 10 years. Action always speaks louder than words. The residents of Crystal Beach deserve more for our concerns and basic needs.

This really becoming a joke. Pinellas County has done nothing to correct this problem. The complaint is posted, and all you do is acknowledge the complaint. Then you wait two or three months and closed the complaint. This is what we pay our taxes for. Why don't you just admit that this problem will not be solved. Honesty would be a better way to convey your real intentions.

Pinellas County hasn't done one thing to solve this issue. I have reported this issue for the past two years, and all that is done is a posting that issue is solved. This is really a sad state of affairs for the residents of Crystal Beach.

Pinellas County has played with this situation for three years. You can grate, plow, dig, and do whatever you may think it is the cheapest. Until you come to the realization that a realistic drainage system has to be install, we will be going through these communications for another three years. It has really become a laughable situation, although the property owners don't see it that way. So I would think we will have to wait for elections to solve this situation.

This issue is a joke, and for every tax payer in Crystal Beach, you should realize by now that Pinellas County treats use like second class citizens. I have written letters to Dave Eggers on three different occasions, only be told by someone in the county that our problems are dependant of the the penny for Pinellas. So we are to get in line to wait for much need services. It is truly a traversey that we pay taxes, but can't get much needed services. Excuse me, they paved three major roads, and left us agan. I have had enough, and ready to leave.

This issue has never been resolved. It has been reported over twenty times. The county replies that they will investigate, and then do nothing. After a few months, they will post that the issue has been fix or resolved. This is the biggest joke for the taxpayers of Crystal Beach. Wouldn't it just be easier to state that you plan to do nothing.

Will this issue ever be addressed. Apparently Crystal Beach doesn't get any respect or response to our needs, but our taxes still need to be paid. What a shame.

This issue hasn't been resolved. Send a representative to my home, and I will show them the problem. You treat the residents of Crystal Beach like second class taxpayers. I live at 404 Pennsylvania Ave and will be more than willing to show whomever the problems. Please stop issuing a statement that the problem has been corrected. This has never been resolved. I would like to person(s) who report that this issue has been solved. this is has been a ongoing issue that Public Works don't really want to tackle. I will have to take this to someone who will listen to a taxpayer. I will be more than willing to show and described the problems that make this a drainage problem. Is their anyone in public works that would be open to see and hear what the problems are, or shall you just continue saying that the issue is solved?

Pinellas County Public Works is aware of the need for drainage improvements in the Crystal Beach community. We are presently constructing drainage improvements along several streets and comprehensive drainage improvements are presently being developed for the area south of Crystal Beach Drive to Florida Ave from Broadus to the west shoreline. This planned major project proposes to resolve poor drainage issues with permanent improvements and not Band-Aids. As a major undertaking it will take a few years to accomplish but fully resolving the poor drainage along Broadus Street, Pennsylvania Avenue and other areas in need is the primary goal. Other goals are the elimination of deeper ditches, enhancements for water quality and aesthetics, and repaving of streets in accordance with the preferences (crushed shell or asphalt) of residents. Public Works staff will be meeting with the Crystal Beach Community Association later this month to further develop this project and will be holding the first of several broader public meetings to gain input from residents and share ideas in the near future.

Just seeing this old post and wonder, seeing as it is halfway through 2021, how the planning for this repair and others just like it is going. The street corners at Hanby and Ontario and Hanby itself, both retain water for almost a week when it rains, so need to have some today on when these 2020 repairs are ever going to be scheduled

It appears that this section of Pinellas County are not that important, and the issues we face are always put on the not important list. I wonder if our taxes should be placed there also.
