Description

Due to the new expansion and parking lot for La Cantina Italian restaurant, pedestrians are not using the 135xWinter Street bridge cross walk and are aimlessly wandering into traffic. They do not care if the light is red or green, they move en masse into moving traffic and it is causing quite a hazard. Pedestrians want to get to the entrance of the parking lot so they bypass the crosswalk entirely and just jump into moving traffic. If there were railing or some sort of cement preventative that could keep people from wandering into open traffic it would be safer for pedestrians and drivers alike. This is especially a huge safety concern at night, when people come out of La Cantina drunk and wander into moving traffic instead of walking down the block (just a few yards, come on people, this is safety!) to the crosswalk. something has to be done to rectify this issue.
