Description
Notice of Hazardous Condition (slip and fall) The city provided tree located at the curb at 816 Fairfield Road produces copious quantities of berries that continually fall to the street and sidewalk. If the berries are dry they are extremely hard and pose a slip and fall hazard to anyone walking on the sidewalk. Many children use the sidewalk to access McKinley School and Stepping Stone Day Care, as well as many elderly persons attending church services nearby. I have personally slipped on these berries while doing yard work, fortunately without injury but it's probably just a matter of time before someone is injured. Please contact me immediately to advise how the city can remedy the situation.
Regards,
Randall C. Patterson

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I will have the Arborist inspect the tree and the berries when he returns on Thursday. I will report back to you after he has been out to inspect.

I apologize for not getting back to you yesterday. The Arborist is available on Tuesday at 1:30pm. Does that work for you?
