(posted on behalf of Assistant Chief Luke Williams, SPPD) Thank you for your submission to the City of St. Petersburg's SeeClickFix website on October 17, 2015. Chief Holloway has asked me to respond directly to you regarding the issue of an abandoned white van parked in the alley blocking the normal flow of traffic near 3701 Oak Street NE. On October 23, 2015, Acting Sergeant L. Santiago responded to this area in regards to the complaint and observed the van parked in the alley as you've described behind 314 38th Avenue NE. He noted that the vehicle did not have a license plate attached and has not been registered in over a year. The vehicle appeared to be in the abandoned condition as described in the city ordinance. Acting Sergeant Santiago attempted to make contact with the owner of the vehicle with negative results; she was unable to be reached. Acting Sergeant Santiago attached an abandoned vehicle notice on the vehicle, giving the owner 72 hours to move the vehicle from its current location or it will be impounded according to City Ordinance. On October 27, 2015, Acting Sergeant Santiago responded back to this location and observed the vehicle had been moved into the driveway of the house and was no longer in violation.
If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact Acting Sergeant Lesandro Santiago at 727-892-5913. Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention.
Sincerely,
Luke C. Williams
