Yes this place looks like a dump when you drive by. The residents are already dealing with coyotes running around their yards - who knows what animals live in this mess. I would call channel 7 they love stories like these and if the city won't clean it up maybe they can help. I hope you reported to Mayor Driscoll also. Good luck!!

I believe you have been more than patient! Did you not have the conservatory department there because of your pool? However no one seems to mind about that MACTRUCK detariating? What about the fuel or oils seeping into ground? Call the EPA...

Upon visiting my son and his family for the past several years, this piece of property has been an eyesore and a trash heap. Junk is only one of the problems. It is a breeding ground for rats which bring the coyotes so they can feast on them. The city of Salem should be ashamed of themselves for letting this go on for so many years.

This dumping is an abomination on the city of Salem and witchcraft Heights. It has gone on for way too long and then ignored by city officials and everyone that should be taking care of it. I lived on Valley St. For years but left in part due to the complete disregard for the sanitation, safety and health of the families in the neighborhood. The value of the homes are decreasing due to the trash dump at the entrance in a beautiful neighborhood. Look at how many homes have been sold in the past year. For a neighborhood that had super fund clean ups at the school and in the area, leaving this eyesore and fuel dump is absurd. Please hold the owners accountable or take over the land and clean it up. News reporters were just there last month reporting on the coyotes. Where do you think they are headed at night for food and shelter. Enough is enough.

If this were next door to any Salem selectman or any other higher up in the City it would have been taken care of A LONG time ago.

Well, as a resident of Salem, Taxpayer, and more importantly the neighbor abutting this property for the last 19 years - I am completely horrified about what is allowed to happen at 41 Valley Street. We have endured over the years fires, animals, oil leaks, loiterers, and the homeless. Debris has been overflowing onto our property constantly for almost 2 decades. The owner has since passed and this property remains in probate? – What about Liens of the property – At what point does the city actually do anything about or take the land over to clean it up. I have written to the Mayor, spoken to our ward-4 councilor, addressed the conservation committee and the Board of Health – My next step is to go the news and see if we can get some help from the media. It amazes me that more than 10 years ago I brought this issue up to the Conservation committee and when they came to survey the property they cited me for my fence encroaching the 100 ft buffer zone and I had to go petition for a variance, but they don’t care about this dump!!! They don’t care about rotting backhoes, school buses, campers……LEAKING dump trucks……. It’s appalling!! I have played nice for the last 19 years but I’ve had it, it’s not fair, it’s an eye sore for the entire Witchcraft Heights Community and something needs to get done, NOW. I have pictures and videos I would like to share but See Click Fix wont accept.

This is a health hazard and a safety issue not to mention a breading ground for rats. I cannot believe my family in law have to live and raise there children
next to this mess for all this time. I am glad I do not live in a town that would allow this.

this seems like a city issue, taking pictures and speaking about the owners is slander without there knowleges as well as trespassing. the property is grandfathered and was there before the homes. offer some assistance instead of starting a war. the coyotes are there will always will be. they would not den near man made structures they will dig there own den. the owner of property can keep pretty much what they want as long as its neat and a fence is errected and the property is marked. as a city and neighbor they should see if they can help them out not start a big @#$% contest im ashamed at the commets on here. this could you your father uncle brother or grandfather or sister aunt cosin grandmother one day.

To all who have commented - we mean no ill will towards anyone or any families - if anyone has any comments or suggestion or can advise the steps that are being taken to clean up this lot -This would be the best solution.

Handyman obviously doesn't have to look at this dump everyday!!

im not here to critizcize you or have you get into a peing contest this is an opinion and services forum. its private property and also i gave my piece in a constructive manner. you obviously do not have much creativity or ability to realize boundaries. dont attact my position. come up with a solution. please respect where i may speak. theres powerlines nearby dont see anyone calling the president about that. you take a tird everyday i sure as heck wouldnt want to took it

The idea is get it cleaned up!, whatever the reason or circumstances, we sympathize, but we dont want to look at it anymore. I would be happy to be part of the solution if someone would offer one. Is the land for sale, do they need help to sell off the vehicles? There must be some money to recoup? I am will to do the leg work and help if the owners need help in any way to get it done.
