@tocds We live in a neighborhood; not an industrial park. It would be one thing if said owner parked a private vehicle in the spot, which fronts to 25th Street. However, there are rules about parking commercial vehicles in neigjborhoods.

It is against city ordinance no matter the duration and people reporting keep the a$$es doing what they should by law. If this city of st pete parking ordinance makes you sad and angry , Than I believe st pete is not the place for anyone who does not adhere to the laws of correct and legal parking. . As stupid and senseless as some city ordinances they are on the books. perhaps you should go to council and complain or move to a city that allows this rude behavior.

What's a better use of city resources? Tracking down trucks that are parked in the neighborhood.
Or tearing down abandoned houses, dilapidated buildings, broken down cars that are rat infested. Our city has much more important things to do than to track down a truck that's parked on private property.
If as you say, it's illegal no matter the duration, then even delivery trucks would not be allowed in neighborhoods. They stop sometimes for 20 minutes to unload.
Think about what you say.

Perhaps some of you belong in a retirement home where it's full of grumpy old people who have nothing better to do than to complain about trivial matters.

I'm just saying, focus on the bigger issues (paint peeling, cracks in sidewalks, a tree branch hanging over a sidewalk, a truck parked in a driveway- really?). You don't have to walk the neighborhood doing a photo scavenger hunt and reporting everything to the big brother.

@tocds This has been an issue in the past as Codes Enforcement initiated a case (14-00016000) in August 5, 2014 for a commercial semi parked on the same property. That particular violation was for a "commercial truck parked on a neighborhood zoned property outside a fully enclosed structure."

While you may find this issue of parking a commercial vehicle in a residential neighborhood unimportant or petty, it is still a violation of city ordnance. In addition, it devalues a historic neighborhood and surrounding property values. A house with paint peeling or cracks in the sidewalk are just as unpleasant to look at as a semi.

Also, your example about a delivery truck stopping for 20 minutes to unload is a moot point. A delivery truck is there temporarily for business and eventually returns to the company's commercial address at the end of the day. Not to mention, most delivery trucks park on the street and not on a neighborhood zoned property.

It's interesting you bring up the discussion of neighborhoods.
Neighborhoods are made of people and the relationships people have with each other.
Wouldn't it be more more proactive to actually reach out to meet this individual and talk to them in person expressing your concerns?
You could actually build a better neighborhood by not snitching on them to the government, but first asking them to rectify the situation and letting them know how much the truck troubles you? Then, involve the authorities if there is no response.
Reach out and talk to people. Don't hide behind a smart phone and app.
Let's create neighborhoods. Let's create neighborhoods were neighbors actually talk to each other.

...and no, the truck isn't mine. I don't know the owner/resident. But your constant petty see click posts over trivial matters shows you lack the neighborly ability to actually talk to your neighbors - instead you'd rather "report them".

If I have a problem with my house or something is troubling my neighbors about my properties in this neighborhood, I would prefer to know that from them so I continue to foster a good relationship with my neighbors. Wouldn't you want the same?

@tocds, it is also easy to hide behind a smart phone and tell someone "don't be an a$$." While I somewhat agree with your statement about talking it out as neighbors, before having the city intervene, it is difficult when someone you have never met before verbally attacks me. In addition, the owner of the semi has already been warned once by the city. It is not my duty or neighborly responsibility to remind the owner not to continue to ignore the rules.
