Description
We need additional signs that are placed in the center line to remind drivers that it is state law to stop for pedestrians in crosswalks. This location is at the crest of a hill and connects to a Publix. The current sign is only the yellow crosswalk indicator.

The in pavement "State Law Stop For Pedestrian" signs can not be installed at this location because of the crosswalk is located at an intersection. Any sign put up would just be knocked out by turning vehicles, particularly sanitation trucks and school buses. We are looking at an alternative solution of adding Rapid Reflecting Beacons at this cross walk. These would be pedestrian activated flashing sign that would alert drivers to the presence of pedestrians. We are working on getting these orders and installed in the next couple of months (there is a 5-8 week delivery time on the equipment).
Thanks
