It would also help if the Dekalb County police knew the law that they are to stop when pedestrians are in cross walk. I have seen squad cars on several occasions fly by while my kids and I are crossing. One even waived to us.

The site distance at this particular crosswalk for northbound traffic is fairly short due to the rise in the road. It may warrant signage further south on Ash-Dun since traffic is often speeding.

This has not been resolves. The crosswalk at Publix and Kadleston way still needs to be addressed.

The in pavement "State Law Stop For Pedestrian" signs can not be installed at this location because of the crosswalk is located at an intersection. Any sign put up would just be knocked out by turning vehicles, particularly sanitation trucks and school buses. We are looking at an alternative solution of adding Rapid Reflecting Beacons at this cross walk. These would be pedestrian activated flashing sign that would alert drivers to the presence of pedestrians. We are working on getting these orders and installed in the next couple of months (there is a 5-8 week delivery time on the equipment).

The YMCA crosswalk's RFB is about two weeks away from delivery. The Ashford Dunwoody at Cambridge Square, Johnson Ferry Road at Waddleston Dr. and the Johnson Ferry Road at Kadelston Dr. all were approved today. They will be ordered and installed in 4-6 weeks. Thank you for your patience.

What is the status of the rapid flashing beacons. Our expectation was set that they would be here by now

The first RFB has gone in at the YMCA crosswalks. The others at Black Burn park, Waddleston and Kadleston will be installed over the next two weeks. There have been countless delays and shipping issues. The City understands the frustration with the delays but know that we are working through all obstacles to install the beacons as quick as possible. Thank you for your patience.
