If the boat and trailer has been parked in the same spot for more than 4 hours please contact the MCPD at 641-421-3636 and press "0" for a dispatcher. Ask that an officer be sent to mark the vehicle. If there is a vehicle attached to the trailer it can be on the public ROW for 48 hours before the police will mark the vehicle.
we were told by the police officer in this area patroling that we stopped they dont have time to worry about things parked in the street.. quote ..." it is not our problem!" just deal with it. and this boat does not even run! also that this person can park his unattended trailer on the stree sometimes empty sometimes full of junk and refuse. guess because we live on the north side we live by a different set of rules by mason city standards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nobody cares about us here.................
Officer checked on the boat a few minutes ago. Owner was advised of 4 hr time limit for trailer parking on city street. Owner was told to move it off street. Officer will check back before 3 pm today.
its 3pm and still there, so whats that tell you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! any where else and no questions would have been asked IT WOULD HAVE BEEN TOWED & CITED!! makes you wonder......
The one beat officer was busy responding to other calls which is why he was late. The parking complaint had less priority than the possible crimes in-progress calls he was dispatched on. He was not able to check back on this until after 3 pm. The trailer was ticketed (after 3 pm) as someone from the house came out and moved the trailer into the yard. Since it was being moved into yard, we did not tow.
yea!!! now to just get the other junk gone.... boat ,cars, boats that dont run ,junk tires, and rubbish in yard, not just move it around from the street to the yard. at least cars can pass each other, but i wonderfor how long? way to go mcpd!!!
now what about all the junk, rubbish, refuse , and crap that litters the yard and ally???????????? is it just a passing thing? or is mason really trying to clean up?
so why is this not cleaned up yet? today i cannot get into the alley to even get home i had to go around the bolck that is BULLS#@!!! THIS LOOKS LIKE BEHRS SCRAP YARD!!!
The officer was there a few minutes ago. The alley was not blocked but there were unattended vehicles / trailers on the right of way. The officer made contact with the residents and told them they could not leave unattended trailers and vehicles parked on the right of way. The residents said they would load up the stuff now. The residents told the officers that city inspectors had also served notice for the junk and debris in the yard. The beat officer was advised of the complaint and will monitor periodically.
Anonymous guest, City ordinance requires a certain amount of time be given to clean up properties. In this instance the amount of time is 10 days. On the 11th day the Code Enforcement Officers can choose to cite the property owner if the nuisance has not been abated, give additional time if significant progress has been made, or close the file if the nuisance has been abated.
In this case the nuisance must be cleared by Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.
well it's been 10 days and nothing.... except the owner has brought home more junk & CRAP... WHEN IS THIS GONNA STOP!!!!!!! OH MABE THIS IS A NEW SCRAP & LANDFILL OF MASON CITY....this is just plain bulls@#^$
As I type this the Code Enforcement officer is at the property. The owner/occupant was given until end of day 8/13 to clean up, the officer says more than half of the stuff is out of the yard and more is on the trailer to be hauled out of there.
As long as progress is being made we are going to work with him. I understand your frustration but taking him to court will just prolong the process by as much as 3 months.
This is not being ignored, check back here for updates.
WONDERFUL !!!!!!! but what happens down the road when it all back? {hope not} hope it stay cleaned up ,because the north end needs all the help & enforcement we can get , not for just a little while but everyday.................. THANKS EVER SO MUCH THIS NEIGHABORHOOD NEEDS THIS!!!!!
@anonymous, I can't guarantee it will stay cleaned up, That is why SeeClickFix is so useful; it's an easy way to keep in touch and let us know if or when things start to backslide before they get too bad.
so whats the deal? clean a litttle bit make m/c happy and haul more back, i watched him bring in 2 trucks full this weekend, to bad m/c asks for help and when the people who live here want it cleaned up there are different laws for each person & place, this is bull its gone on long enough fine , and clean it out m/c has enough employees & trucks to handle it, just enforce the laws!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
these residents are scrapping applinaces, mowers , grilles , all sorts oj junk, this i throught was residental aera not commerical, they cleaned out a small portion but keeps adding to whats there, i am not upset with a person making a dime but not taking down thw neighaborhood.........
Good afternoon, @anonymous guest. We were up there this morning and we have no idea what you are talking about. There is no scrapping taking place and the property is 99.9% in compliance.
ok...... they must be cleaning it up each day because the blue truck was full of applinces monday. well THANKS for the help hope it stays cleaned up...
WHAT!!!!!how is this property in compliance???? the back yard looks like a dump! this is not far to m/c residents who take pride in m/c anyone else would have been forced to clean this up.... mabe you need to open your eyes and try getting out of your truckand see what this does to a neighaborhood,
