People are supposed to arrange pick up of bulky items by calling Waste Management 24 hours+ prior to their recycling day. If wasn't done, you might want to call their customer service number and arrange pick up. 800-972-4545

This is ridiculous. You call to report someone left something on the sidewalk and they tell you to call some one else....... I suggest the city should not be avoiding it's duty. It is not the private citizens duty to take care of these issues. It is not their property that was left there and they were nice enough to report it and now they become responsible for notification to WM.....That is a big bunch of crap. It was reported to the city and now it is the city's job to report it to WM or go get it themselves.....Shirking resposibility is not becoming of the City of Salem. .

I do agree Boris some of this does seem ridiculous , I haven't quite put my finger on it yet . but we'll see

What is left on the curb is the responsibility of the homeowner for that property. The City doesn't know who's property/trash was left out. We asked you to call the 800-972-4545 number to arrange pick up as this will resolve the issue.

Waste Management will pick up the bulky item.
