This used to be a really nice looking property...when it was rented. Now with the lousy economy, it is pretty obvious that the owner hasn't had any luck finding new renters (the "for rent" sign out front doesn't help either). Consequently, the front door is gone and boarded up, theres some graffitti on the shed and the whole place just looks so pathetic. I know times are tough, but can't LCI or someone get on the owner to keep the place in better shape?

I was disppointed to see this post, as it is posts like this that have started to lesson the effectiveness of
SeeClickFix. I live nearby so I see this house all the time, but I drove by again just to see if there was something different that I hadn't noticed lately. There's nothing wrong with this house. Yes it's empty, but since when is that an issue worth complaining anonymously about to a slew of City departments and watchers? Someone took initiative and closed off the front door with plywood, most likely in an effort to prevent any damage to their investment. Yes there's a small shed out back with H.M.S. spray painted on it, but drive around Fair Haven and you'll see this everywhere. In fact it keeps reappearing just across the street on the retaining wall at Lewis Street park, no matter how often it's painted over. If it's really bothering you pop a note in the mailbox for the owner; it looks like he lives nearby. As for the 'For Rent' sign, get real; it's an acceptable method of advertising a rental.
If you find a pothole that's big enough to swallow a car or a bulk pickup pile that the city never got around too, by all means post it here, but save this website for real issues, and stop trivializing its potential usefulness. LCI has considerably more important and serious things to deal with than a nice river front house that's properly secured, is well maintained and has a shed that some local idiots decided to spray paint. Seriously.
