Beth, this bridge is a disgrace. It requires more than cold patch, which is stop gap. I'm having Don and Aaron before the committee I chair on Monday, 2/1, 6 PM. This issue will be raised. Watch Ch. 15 or come to City Hall and participate in the discussion.

I was at the hearing for these bridges 8 years ago. The representative from the State said that both bridges were going to be replaced at the same time, or in quick succession. Construction on the lower bridge began around May 4, 2009 when they closed off the road. The only other people at that hearing were Councilors Tim Purington, and Don Wesh because no notice was given to anyone in Holyoke beforehand. Just a small notice posted in the Republican newspaper.

Oh and FYI, as I drove over the bridge tonight around 6 p.m. I did notice that either some of the cold patch is already popping out or there are new holes forming.

I would be happy to attend the meting on 2/1 if my work schedule allows. The only time I have been inside city hall was to get licenses for my dogs so I wouldn't know where to go.
