Description
The snow on the sidewalks of the Elm/Grand Street bridge is never cleared properly and the bridge is never salted. I am particularly talking about the south side. Today, the concrete was visible on other sidewalks right next to the bridge. The bridge had been shoveled but poorly. There was still an inch of snow on the walking surface. It becomes a hazard with repeated freezing and thawing, especially since it is never salted. I cross that bridge everyday going to and from work downtown. In the two previous winters I've lived in New Haven, that bridge has consistently been a challenge to cross once there is snow on the ground. It is the only place I've fallen. Please communicate with whomever is responsible for clearing the bridge that they need to do a better job. Otherwise it is a safety hazard.
