My name is Yahima, I'm the other person that Joe is talking about that had the same incident yesterday with the same pothole. I was driving and had cars on both lanes parallel to mine and couldn't avoid the pothole. I heard a very loud bang and immediately the computers on my car started warning me the tire had a critical state and it was imperative for me to pull over and that it was not safe to continue driving the vehicle at this point. I immediately turned my emergency lights on and made a right. At this point my car was driving on the rim since the tire was completely flat. I immediately saw this gentleman who have had the same thing happened to him and I approach him and we took pictures of both the pothole and the damage to both our cars. I own an electrical/hybrid car and unfortunately these cars are very sensitive (Mercedes Benz S class 400 hybrid) The damage is extensive. My tire blew up and the rim bent. There's also electrical damage as it blew up the sensors of the tire. I would also like to file a claim for the damage done to my car. I can only imagine how many people have gone through the same situation as you can see the hole is large enough to show its been there for a while. Thank in advance for the attention to this matter!
