Description

On the east side of Pine Street, between Hulbert Supply and the Post Office parking lot, there is a swale leading to a catch basin adjacent to the sidewalk that accumulates an excessive amount of thick ice that covers the sidewalk and part of a private parking lot, posing a risk to pedestrians and bicyclists on the shoulder of Pine Street. This issue needs a more permanent solution than constant salting. The catch basin and swale should contain the water flowing between properties to prevent this water from flowing across the sidewalk.
