I think the main legal parking concern with this property is when they block the sidewalk. It is a shame they are destroying the lawn, and ugly, but as noted, unlikely to be illegal. Is there a reason the resident of this address can not park on the street?

I was wondering that, too. I've never considered it might be illegal to park on one's own lawn. Somebody else's lawn? That would be a problem.

I am not city official, and Yes Problem Properties may know more. It may not be against the law, but I do believe there are ordinances against it. I show there one is 500. 2.20 Front Yards: A minimum of 50% of the front yards of single and two family residential uses shall be devoted to a lawn and/or landscaping area (not paving). Such area may be included in the usable open space computation, if in compliance with Section 400.8.
It does not say no parking on private property, but it provides regulation that people can't pave their whole front yard without approval and there are general guidelines. Also there are supposed to be curb cuts and etc for driveways. I don't think there is issue with parking in your yard, but I do believe it has to be paved and you need approval to do that. As why do the bother with ordinances such as paving or with street parking stickers if it is okay to just park in one's lawn?

I think that is unfair, I do not think of this family in this house as low class, whatever that means. I think if by "class" you mean a lower income vs higher income, it is definitely not the issue.

The issue in this case is respect for neighbors. Anyone can drive or walk through our neighborhood and see:

The sidewalks are shoveled
The leaves are raked and bagged in recycling bags
The exterior light fixtures etc. are in good repair
There is no trash blowing around in the yard

These things are just part of being a good neighbor, these are the things that people look for when buying and appraising in an area. Behaving as a good neighbor is not just morally right, in a financial sense, it is good business.

I am a follower of SCF and find this to be a very useful tool for the community to address issues that need to be fixed. However, it seems like every other day someone is complaining about something to do with 21 Greystone Rd. It appears this is one neighbor harassing another. Is this really what SCF was intended for? How about just letting people live in their home and save this tool for what really needs to be addressed.

I do live in the neighborhood and I don't feel you are being neighborly at all. The issues you are reporting do not affect your life in any way. Let's all just try to get along and live and let live.

Thank you for addressing this but I feel like I am being harassed left and right ! We all go to work different times . This is why we park on our property ! Two residents are younger and drive their parents vehicles which are registered in a neighboring town . Not Malden no sticker. Please stop harassing these young women they are renters not home owners.

I really sorry for the residents of Malden but I will be walking around this week taking pictures of all the residents tires touching the street at the end of the driveways . I saw 3 houses yesterday but I'm at the point now where I have had enough.

This is the last thing I want to say , that young woman who's car this is , just so you can know your neighbors a little she works three jobs , her mother is dying of cancer and she has to be able to get out of the yard to assist her at all hours of the day and night . She works and goes to school and takes care of her mother . So your Harassing a hard working young woman who's mom is dying . You should be proud of the type of Neigbor you are .

I would just like to take a moment to point out the fact that this application is being used to victimize members of this community.

When you refer to someone as "low class" that clearly violates the terms and conditions of this application. (Which you all really need to review) I am appalled at the fact that the city of Malden of is allowing these kind of derogatory terms to be tossed around the Internet.

This is becoming a bigger issue than someone parking on their lawn at night- This is clearly an act of gentrification.

I feel as though I am being pushed out of my neighborhood, because I can't afford yard service. I understand the need to keep a community clean; however a line is crossed when you make it clear that someone is unwelcome in a community merely because of their socio-economic status.

I have people constantly photographing my home, then continuing to write about how my disabled family members are immature- I can't help but feel that this is not really about "acting neighborly".

This is un proportionally disadvantaging not only low income families but also minority groups and the mentally/ physically disabled.

After talking to other members of the community it's easy to ascertain that I am not the only one who feels I am being unfairly targeted.

This is a issue that truly hits home for me- no pun intended.

I will not sit here and watch this clear cut case of classism within a divided community be clandestinely propagated by a government application.

I will be reporting the misuse of this application and I will most definitely be doing some research on property law.

I think you're taking this class thing a bit too far. No one ever referred to you or anyone else as "low class". I am the one who made the comment #3 saying that parking on one's lawn seemed an unsightly/low class thing to do but questioned whether there was a law against it. "Low class" in the sense of "Vulgar or crude; common". And it is, and I stand by that. Call it "redneck" if you want.

But bottom line, if it's not illegal, then don't worry about it, although your neighbors may not love you. If it is illegal, then stop doing it.

Im so proud of you. the issue at hand is this edan fellow is watching you all hours of the night. You need mase. Im scared for your safty. I will sue the city of malden if anything happens to you. Its more serous than that. The male in question has been seen going in neighbors yards. Some of his pictures are late at night. This is the city of malden putting the residents in danger. Think about it he is watching the comming and going of young single girls. Is a home invasion next. Rember the police know his adress and who he is. That is creepy. they need to run a background check on him. Parking is the least of their worries. he is also a trespasser.

I believe they dont relize the nature of this subject and the pictures at late hours. This person continues to go near a home with young girls. Im just fearful for their safty. Ive seen what can happen. Red flags are up.

My daughter let the house today. The strange man was standing outside staring at her. I sent her to malden police to report it. She was very scared. They did not take a report or go talk to him. They told her there is nothing they can do to get camers. This man is a stalker. Again in my city the pd would be all over this. How many times must I cry for help. What can be done. Im so scared. Will he rape or rob them. They dont know what an area check or police report is. Do I need to go to stse police for help.

The person who reported this issue is using this tool incorrectly. Harassing neighbors is not morally correct . The parking on the lawn happened after the call to the police department that the red cars back tires where touching the part of the drive way that is considered the side walk by two inches. I already explained the sticker issue so the young lady above had no choice but to park on the lawn. If she parked in the drive way she would wake up with a ticket. I have lived here for 9 years and I have never had a issue parking in my driveway before. Now Edan was told she can not park in front of her house because even though she owns the drive way it's blocking a drive way access . She has no actual drive way it's a ramp to her garage. Upset that Malden was trusting just her ? The out come is now this couple walks around and snaps pictures so that Malden has to send police to ticket and tow , this app is being used for neighborly bullying and wasting our tax dollars and police department time . Let me tell you Malden pd have better things todo then come here and measure where tires hit driveway entry points. Parking where the car blocked the other side of street I get but the drive way come on. Enough .
