I would like to request information regarding scheduling of sidewalk repair on Cliff St. I understand that the nice work that has been done on surrounding streets, (Valley, Cherry, etc) was done in conjunction with water main replacement. I'd like to know where Cliff St. is on that schedule, especially with the recent reports of high lead levels detected in some Malden homes. We have a 17 month old and in addition to the lead issue are disappointed that we can't take her for a walk on our street, either walking or in a carriage, due to the unwalkable condition. There are children, elderly and handicapped residents on the street and the lack of a passable sidewalk is discouraging to those of us who want to invest in our walking community. The failed sidewalks have also required the removal of almost all of the trees on the street, which has a negative effect on property values and standard of living. I've sent a number of inquiries about the scheduling in the past to the engineering department with no response. As a public employee I understand the challenge of doing more with less. Please let me know anything I can do to help improve the street. thanks for your time.
