This issue with handicapped parking has not been fixed and was reported 3 months ago. And again, I have seen people take advantage of this leaving me, the person who needs it, with a space to park in. Terrible.

Not fixed. Couldn't even park the other day because there was not one but two people parked where the handicapped spot should be and neither car had handicapped placards or plates. And what should you do? Call the police. But you know the cars would be gone by the time the police got there. When I asked inside they said they could not do anything because it was city property and they run into this problem all the time. AND THIS PROBLEM WAS REPORTED IN JANUARY!!!!

The city of Chicopee seems to not care about the daily struggles those of us with disabilities face. A couple lines of paint would solve this problem.

People having to cope with physical disabilities are already facing more than enough of a challenge just to make it successfully through the day without having situations like this thrust upon them to add insult - and additional impediments - to injury. The appropriate and relevant Chicopee authorities would be well advise to respond to your very reasonable and certainly modest request and correct the signage deficiencies regarding the handicapped parking space(s) at the Post Office sooner rather than later, perhaps even immediately, especially considering how long the wait has already been.

Has this been resolved. Last comment was November 2016?!

I think the City of Chicopee needs to resolve this to close this issue. Clearly, they have no interest. Handicapped patron, take a photo if you have a phone and then call police. This is ridiculous. How long does it take to paint a few lines on the ground especially when there is so much construction around and they will be painting lines also. I can't believe this does not violate some Federal or state law. Talk to Sen. Wagner"s office! Maybe they can light a fire under someone. Clearly, this forum can't get action! Send an email to Ward 2 councilman, Shane Brooks also.

This has been an ongoing issue for years with this space. The post office is aware but it is a city street so it is not up to them. I have e-mailed others about this and the response is kind of always the same “we’ll look into it”.

I think City of Chicopee is in violation of this. They better get a person with a bucket of paint out there, pronto!

The address is 28 Main st. I can send pictures if needed. It is curbside parking in front of the post office. No spaces are marked, there are 2 signs on the even side of road, both strapped to the light pole. One sign indicates 30 minutes parking, directly above it there is a handicap parking sign. There is no indication if the parking is in front of the sign, or behind the sign, or if there are 2 spaces.

Unbelievable that this issue is still open. This should be taken care of immediately.
