The City of Oakland Public Works Agency has received this issue. It is registered as service request # 423590. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

The fix was very poor. Water is accumulating near the patch and the problem will return soon. It needs to fixed properly.

The underlying problem appears to be a natural spring, of which there are a number in this area. It will require some corrective work to redirect the spring before repaving will be effective.

So correct the problem. This is a major road for our area that affects all of the people in the neighborhood. Every day my neighbors and I have to dodge the the pot hole.

In the meantime, make the area next to hole a no parking area. In that way, my neighbors can go over the hole without crossing the double yellow line.

This should be a high priority. Someday the road will have major damage. We need Hiller drive.
