For years now I have almost been broadsided getting in/out of that parking lot at School St. I always wondered why cars don't slow when turning onto a diff street and I do know driver on the street they are entering usually has right of way even two wheels onto the street (from Lot) but the GREEN changes that and puts us at risk There is a lot of foot traffic here and someone WILL get hit BUT waiting for that to happen so get a fix the problem is scary thought since dogs may not count and they usually are in the lead. Cars coming from Peabody are going much faster and upon you when you are in the middle of the crosswalk. Hope to see solution soon with summer on the way.

I have been told this intersection may be getting traffic signals as a solution. I never see enough traffic flow to warrant it. BUT the need for a pedestrian light to safely cross School street is needed due mainly to continuous green signal effecting drivers behaviour. Its like having a green go sign up. It goes against the design of the system. Telling traffic to go is unneccessary. And worse in an area requiring drivers to be cautious. Also, as to the proposed solution being new traffic signals att this intersection I see it as UGLY for home owners surounding this intersection. It will lower property values for nearby homes. Sad when there is an easy and cheeper solution to help protect pedestrains in this area. Still, i am surprised that NO one can answer the question of WHY are Pedestrian Lights always on green anyway?
