I could not agree more! Some of these sidewalks look like trashcan ally, you constantly have to bob and weave to get through. I for one would love the city to fine a few people then maybe things would improve.

A city-wide problem but particularly in the east end about which the city boasts of its being a 'walkable neighborhood.' NOT! Dodging cans illegally parked on the sidewalk does not make for a walkable neighborhood...and oddly enough there are specific ordinances which forbid the cans being left in the public right of way - sidewalk, street, alley - another ordinance the city, for some reason, has on the book but doesn't enforce.

Please do not close the issue simply because it was 'submitted' or referred to someone....wait til the issue is actually resolved before closing it.

So THAT'S how it works... and how the city gets such good numbers re SeeClickFix! . It's not about things being resolved-- only that somebody read the message. Now I understand why things are often marked "closed" with no action having been taken.

Just spoke with 311 center regarding this issue continuing despite the "matter being referred to Public Works"; I was told they have until May 5 to investigate. Then the call center gave me Code Enforcement who told me it is not their issue and that I need to speak with DPU. More to follow.....
