We neighbors certainly pay a price for hosting this weekend's Budweiser Made In America Festival, with its street closures, parking restrictions, trash, crowds, noise, and bad beer. But it's also a source of pride to see the Parkway's beautiful vistas featured in an event that is getting a lot of press throughout the US and the world.

I'm reserving my judgment about this event, and my opinion about similar ones in the future, until I see how the City and the event organizers handle the crowds and cleanup
If they do their job responsibly, our sacrifices will be worthwhile. If they're negligent, I'll gladly fetch my torch and pitchfork, and join the mob for the march on City Hall. But let's give them a shot.
Jay-Z has left Logan Square. The neighborhood, and the Parkway, are about as clean (or as dirty, if you're the glass-half-empty sort) as before MIA came to town.
