People drives in the bike lane because that what they wants to do. I lives on Brookland pkwy and sees it all the time. Something need to be done.

I think part of the problem with the bike lane is that it is too wide, so many people are confused and think it is for cars as well. It should be made a little more narrow (like most other bike lanes) so cars will not fit in it. This would also leave a little extra room in the shoulder for cars to park (which is very tight as it is).

That can be part of the problem but the law says no cars. Until they fix it we have to go by the law.
