Description
This "Safe Routes to School" speed sign that has been made non-functional by bad placement and worse orientation of its solar panel.
Location is in the shade of a pole-mounted Fios utility box. It looks like somebody tried fixing it by rotating the assembly but now the solar panel is pointed too far northwest (which is probably the wrong direction to "get away" from the Fios box's shadow) and the sign itself has been rotated so that sensor no longer points along the street (it never "sees" the cars).
Suggested fix: rotate the the whole assembly back to re-align the sign with traffic approaching from Decatur street, then continue rotating the solar panel only until the solar panel faces southeast where it will have the best chance of catching the morning and near noon sun coming from the "Fremont St" direction.
