Description

At the intersection of Haynes Bridge and Northwinds Parkway/Lakeview Pkwy, south bound traffic on Northwinds has a protected left hand turn signal for a period of time. The stoplight is red at this point for traffic waiting on Lakeview Parkway. But when the stoplight turns green for Lakeview Parkway, southbound cars (on northwinds) continue through the light turning in front of oncoming traffic at a high rate of speed, cutting over to get on 400 south. Lakeview traffic has a solid green light and cars should be able to go straight or turn right...they have the right of way. Cars on Northwinds turning left should yield when the turn signal changes to solid green (no protected turn arrow), but they do not! I was almost side swiped today by someone as I tried to turn right from Lakeview onto Haynes Bridge. I had a solid green light! I drive this route regularly, and it is dangerous. Near misses, people slamming on breaks...either the turn signal timing is off, or people are just running the light because they know there is no camera at that light or simply don't care. Please watch that intersection during rush hour and fix this problem!
