The emergency vehicle situation is understandable. What is not understandable is why it takes me up to 45 minutes to go exactly 5 miles from City Center to my home with nothing going on. This happens all too frequently; not just once or twice.

I have lived in other larger cities and they don't have excuses they have solutions. Why does it take me 45 minutes to go 5 miles from City Center to my home when there is no accident and no emergency vehicles.

The "explanation" by city traffic engineering sounds like a lot of hooey to me. I live off Oyster Point and am SICK of not being able to get in or out of my neighborhood during rush hour!!! It can take me 20 minutes to get from Kiln Creek to Village Green Parkway...3 MILES people 3 MILES!!! It's ridiculous! Poor planning by the city does NOT constitute a good excuse for NOT fixing the mess they made!!!

Sounds like to me you are all a bunch of complaniers. The inital post was City wide. The city tried to give you information and then you complain about specifics. If you give them specifics first then maby the can address your concerns.

I go through Jefferson and Oyster Point intersection all the time. It has three straight lanes for both ways on jefferson three striaght lanes heading to the interstate two lanes heading to Warwick, which is understandable since the bridge only carries two lanes. There is 2 left turns lanes for every direction and right turn lanes for every direction. There is a lot of traffic going though this intersection. A lot of traffic. To me the problem is like tring to poor five gallons of water through a funnel. It just takes that much time to get it through. If you are that concerned then remove your car from the flow and take the bus or move back to your big city. It will help us all out. Like everybody else I am sure those City guys have way more work then they have people and really do the best they can. But nobody gives them any thanks for the problems they are working on. So far all I see is the bad mouthing so called "citizens" do on this site. Get proactive and help to find solutions to the traffic - oh no can't do that, that would take away time from fussing about it.

This item has been closed in See Click Fix. As many issues require several days or even weeks to investigate and complete, this closure means that the issue has been transferred to the City system for action.

Big "O"...sounds like you are part of the problem. You just sit back and say "Mediocre is good enough, oh well." We need people who can fix problems not just except them and try to explain them away.

Don't see you you doing anything to fix the problem - just whining about them. You have no clue what I do because when I have an issue I contact the City directly not through a blog site. What do you do?

In case you haven't noticed, the city monitors this site!! However, it's still messed up.

It is an easy fix. Set up Warwick and Jefferson with synchronized lights. Have them turn green with the posted speed limit. I used to live in Downtown Oakland, California. It is much more congested. The major streets are syncronized. You can set your cruise control to the posted speed and cruise down the street without stopping.
