We will pass this on to the police department. The more important issue is trespassing rather than permitting. You cannot get a permit to build on someone else s land so it would be pointless to ask them to get a permit for a homeless camp on land they don't own.

PD is aware of this encampment. We are working with the HowardCenter Street Outreach team to connect with the individual, directly.

Off the corner of Manhattan drive and parking lot for 669 riverside ave apartments. Also where a large tv was dumped and separately reported earlier this week! So the homeless seem to no longer actually be " home" less, I guess??? It's right on the foot path down to the train tracks, under the power lines. I'm certain no permits were given for this single story one bedroom structure!!!

The PD is aware of this, as well as City Officials. We are working with Street Outreach and the individual to find more suitable housing.

There was a recent SCF issue regarding a number of found used needles behind 669 Riverside too.

I checked this website for a report of needles at riverside avenue and did not find any report. If you know of a location of discarded needles would you please send the information so we can follow up. The more specific information the easier it will be to find these.

Along the fence line in the back parking lot at 669 riverside ave. next to the health center. There's a hole in the fence line where they go to be out of sight. Collected up over 60 used needles this spring so far. Cleaning up trash in the area. Found a stolen lap top that got returned to its owner and also a bike frame to an expensive bike that was brought to the police lost and found. Thanks for the follow up. Homeless built a structure on the back corner off Manhattan drive under power lines.

I will reach out to the property manager at 669 Riverside in regard to the maintenance of their fence. We continue to work with the individual that built the structure around housing. Unfortunately, there is no quick fix to many of our homeless neighbor's housing issues.

Thank you kindly. Hope the best for the gentalman that's living so rough. He is kind. As are his neighbors. The trash is always an and will always be an issue with large dumpsters on both ends. How about we put the bike path thru it, I'm sure it would be cleaned up right away.

A year later the homeless camp was burned down last week! Now that puts stress on the fire /rescue services, it's not free, and this mans life, how minimal it may be is now left as burned out waste that most likely will now never be cleaned up! How sad, wasted resources, time, and polluted earth! Off back corner of manhatten drive under the power lines.

Sadly I doubt it will ever be cleaned up.

I'm pretty sure this issue can be closed at this point.
