We mailed the notice of violation Sept. 11 with a deadline to comply of tomorrow. After tomorrow we will be issuing individual citations for each address where these signs pop up.

Okay, so that would mean someone has to be able to PROVE that all these addresses had all these signs on some day after 9/18. And since they put them out on Friday at 6:00 and take them down Sunday at dark, how would we expect to gather such proof?

We do have inspectors working weekends. They are now aware of this issue and the deadline and will issue citations if they show up again this weekend.

I suspect these signs will go back up in the next couple of hours...

There were a ton of these signs all over this weekend again. Really trashy especially with everyone in town for the fair.

How many times is Nowell's going to go out business? I wish they would close already. I agree their signs are trashy looking. If it were safe I would just pick them up myself and put them in a dumpster.

Yeps I saw them again today too

Our inspector did issue a Notice of Violation to them but without having seen them directly the inspector cannot issue a citation. She did call them with a pointed warning and worked over the weekend. When I get a report back I will update.

Our inspector went out Sat. and rode Western, Blue Ridge, Trinity, Hillsborough & Chapel Hill Rd. She did not see any Nowell’s signs. We only have one inspector covering the entire city on weekends. Their priority areas are the larger thoroughfares (Glenwood, Capital, etc.). We will try to run by the area again next Saturday or ask the on duty inspector if they can come to this side of town and monitor for the signs.
