I see this was tagged as a "bike concern" and "pothole"... To be totally clear: The road is literally unpaved right now for multiple blocks and has been for a week. This is NOT just a bike concern. This is a concern for anyone driving a car, all the kids walking home from the elementary and high schools, and for the multiple people in our neighborhood that can only get around by wheelchair. PLEASE fix our streets.

They came out and paved about 3/4's of 19th Street late yesterday afternoon, which is great, however I feel it should be noted to whoever official that's watching this that the workers never closed the street. I turned onto 19th not realizing they were paving and got tar all over my car. They were angry, I was angry. Where were the flaggers and signs? What is going on with the road crews in this city? The barely painted arrows on the speed bumps, so good luck...

FYI - a friend had a similar situation with no warning of the road or lane closed and had tar all over his truck's under carriage and was able (with CM Rice's) assistance to get a the car cleaned/detailed at the expense of the road pavers company or the city itself. Darden.Rice@stpete.org

Wow! That's really good to know. It wasn't too much tar, though to be fair I didn't really check the under carriage, just where the tires kicked a small amount onto the body. I was able to wash it off, but I'll definitely look into that. Thank you!

The City of St Petersburg periodically reviews past reports that are made from citizens within our city limits, and in an effort to clean-up old issues that were resolved some time ago, we are marking as 'closed' those issues that were submitted in the past for which the work has been completed or the issue has otherwise been resolved.
