Law enforcement issues (illegal street parking or other illegal activities, abandoned/inoperative vehicles in the street, noise ordinance violations, etc.) need to be reported directly to the St. Petersburg Police Department by calling 727-893-7780 (for non-emergencies) or 911 (for emergencies.)
(posted on behalf of Assistant Chief Luke Williams, SPPD) Thank you for your SeeClickFix on April 1, 2016. Chief Holloway has asked me to respond directly to you regarding the abandoned vehicle in the area of 2840 Burlington Avenue North. The information you provided was forwarded to Community Service Sergeant Richard Hladik to investigate.
Sergeant Hladik reported that he assigned Officer Mike Christian to check on the vehicle. Officer Christian checked the area and advised the vehicle is now gone. Please be aware that simply not moving a vehicle for a period of time does not necessarily make it an abandoned vehicle. There are other criteria which must be met by city ordinance such as tags not being current, flat tires, vehicle inoperable, etc.
If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact the Community Service Unit at (727) 551-3183. Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention.
Sincerely,
Luke C. Williams
Assistant Chief of Police
