Deskripsyon

The sidewalk on the west side of Pine is raised about 3-4ft above the road, but has no handrail to keep kids from falling onto the narrow, curving roadway below.

Unfortunately, a big pile of "pedestrian safety" money (100k+?) went to build the relatively untrafficked, overwide (and now graffiti-prone) concrete stairway climbing from Sacto St just above the Stonehouse, up to Clay St next to the Red Castle.
(It used to be the sweetest little woodland trail...Grrr.)

There is now a handrail, as part of the re-work of this section of sidewalk. Would have been nice to make it a double-rail (so harder for kids to go under the handrail), but I still call it a win.
