Description
Hello,
I'm writing this to share my true ire towards what you have let happen on Cambridge Park Drive. The city has continued to allow massive buildings and apartment complexes to be built on this road fully knowing there is only ONE way to get out of that road and also know that the ONE way to get out of that road is a true and utter disaster to say the least. What you have done here is create a situation that is unsafe and is legitimately ruining peoples lives. I work at 150 Cambridge Park drive and I have to park in the parking garage that is now there. It has consistently been taking me 45 minutes to get out of my parking garage and to the lights at the Summer Shack. Honestly, you had to see that coming and you should be ashamed of yourselves that you knowingly allowed all of this building to continue knowing full well that it was going to be more than a nightmare to all of us that work or live down in this area. I already have a 45 minute commute as is, so I don't appreciate the fact that it's taking me 45 minutes just to go 1/10 of a mile to get to the intersection where it then takes me another 45 minutes to get home. I'm utterly disappointed and disgusted with the judgement and decisions the city of Cambridge made. The outcome is that you've basically ruined our work weeks even more and we really don't appreciate it. And that's not to mention that you've caused a severe emergency and fire hazard because if there was anything bad to happen between 430-7pm on weekedays, it would be nearly impossible for emergency personel to get in and especially out of Cambridge Park drive. I know whoever reading this is unlikely to be the decision maker for all of this, but please pass on my severe frustrations and disappointment to the group that did make these decisions. I sure their commutes aren't nearly doubled because of the decisions they've made.

Traffic - BMcK: It would be good if the traffic meeting that you are discussing could be held at one of the buildings ON Cambridgepark Drive and if that forum date and time could be widely distributed amongst the residents and businesses of CPD.
I would also recommend having a larger contingency of people at Alewife Station tomorrow as several people from my company alone are planning on attending and it will only incite more frustration on our end if a few people are there and are not able to at least speak to our concerns and how we, as a community, might get together to solve it.

I just wanted to clarify that the event at Alewife Station tonight, April 6th, is an informal opportunity for citizens to provide feedback to the City as part of Envision Cambridge process, not a formal public meeting. The Street Team will be available to accept your feedback, but will not be able to address your concerns on the spot.
We are in the process of scheduling a meeting to specifically address transportation concerns on Cambridge Park Drive, where appropriate City staff will be available to take part in the discussion. We are trying to identify a venue on Cambridge Park Drive to hold the meeting, and will provide information on time and location as soon as it is finalized.
