I've lived near this intersection and seen many accidents. Just this summer a child was killed in accident on the same corner. A light would be helpful. Hard to see in the Winter and When Foggy. Just this a.m. someone Ran the stop sign and almost caused an accident in front of me. The Church was a good marker.

This intersection is terrifying:( It shouldn't be, but it is. I am not sure what happens to people when they get to the stop sign, but they never seem to LOOK before they pull out into the very obvious oncoming traffic. Vehicles rolling out in front of me has become such a common occurence that I have started to avoid this intersection when possible. Maybe a 4 way stop would fix this since I think that is what people think it is anyways.

I just wrote a letter to the Township a few weeks ago addressing this same issue. I have lived on Shepherd Road for over 20 years, and have had so many near misses, I've lost track. Something MUST be done. Making this a 4 way stop, or signs cross traffic does not stop, a blinking light "anything" would help. I had someone literally pull right out in front of me and if I had not slowed down to make sure, I would have hit them for sure. A little boy was killed there last Summer. It was terrible. My daughter had "just drove" thru the intersection. She saw the accident in her rear view mirror. That was too close for comfort for me. That accident was with a Consumers Energy truck, so you can imagine why someone was killed. I'm sure they didn't pull out in front of that truck unless they thought they were stopping. We need to have something done. With the extra traffic due to Casino, we have a lot more traffic now than even 10 years ago.

It took several fatalities at this intersection and I witnessed the last one before they finally turned it into a 4 way stop. I will close this post.
