Description
Could the City of St. Petersburg please share the next step in their plan for the use of Williams Park? It appears that there is an increase in homeless people gathering and sleeping in the park since the centralized bus station was removed.
- Marbut Report stated that individuals in the park and Mirror lake area had dropped in 2011 to 3-12 from 85+/50+ in October 2010. It appears the population at park is increasing again.
- where are the "Power of Change" meters located in the Downtown area?
Why is there not a City Ordinance prohibiting sleeping in Williams Park at night?
Thanks for the information.

Thank you for your inquiry regarding future plans for Williams Park, the locations of the Power of Change Donation Stations, and an ordinance prohibiting sleeping in Williams Park at night. We are happy to share the following information with you.
Future Plans for Williams Park-the City’s Parks and Recreation Department, working with other city departments and our downtown business partners and neighborhood groups, has been hard at work developing plans for enhancing citizen enjoyment of Williams Park. Future plans include art programing, the scheduling of special events and concerts, food trucks, free Wi-Fi for all park users, and improvements to the landscaping. We have increased police presence in the park and now have an officer assigned to patrol the park from shortly after it opens in the morning until the park closes at 11:00 PM. We have also been speaking with St. Petersburg College and are hopeful their students and faculty will take advantage of the beauty and amenities Williams Park has to offer.
