The road is still filled with potholes, perhaps a supervisor can come look at the problem.... The fork at 183 is in bad shape the road dips and heaves. The water has come over the road at the culvert and undermined the road now the road here is very rough every truck or trailer bangs loudly. Recently signs have been erected as Greenwoods will be the detour for Pinewoods renovation. Can't wait for the added traffic, noise, potholes and lack of response from the City of TORRINGTON.

And trim the shrubs at the top of Greenwoods Rd....no visibility when you're approaching 183.

Shrubbery definitely needs trimming or better yet, removal! They're so ovegrown that they are totally unsightly. Also, the "Y" island needs mowing. Does the City beautification committee only work on the downtown islands? Couldn't they clean up this island as well?

just called Torr road dept - Greenwoods road is NOT on the list to pave this year. I've hit the same darn pothole two days in a row now - after having to replace one tire already! I told them if they couldn't see fit to pave the road they should at least get up there and do a good patch job. Everyone - call the road dept - they need to hear from us & I don't think they're really monitoring this website!

Four months and this issue is still open! Perhaps the Street department is too busy. I bet there are several construction firms who'd love to have the the work sub-contracted to them. The road is still in poor shape; some patching has occured but there is still a lot that needs repair. Does anyone follow up on these reports? Why is this issue not resolved? When will it be completed?

Yield sign is missing at the Y in the road. Now that this road is part of the detour proper signage might help. Road is still pocked with potholes. You should see how the water flows NOT into the catch basins which are higher than the swale created by the heavy trucks allowed to use Greenwoods Road. The water cascades around the basins. This is a sad statement for Torrington Street Department's management. I will rate Greenwoods Road and the Street Department as POOR.

The road is still riddled with potholes, water flowes around the basins not into them as they are higher than the shoulder of the road in many places. Coming off of Rt.183 there is a drop in the road. Seven months and no real change...town hall is ineffective.

Road is terrible, drainage is shot, pothole and cracks litter the road from top to bottom. Road has not seen any real repair. Definitely will remember when election times come around again.

Many road in Torrington are in need of repair. All the property taxes we pay on our cars and trucks doesn't end up in the roads. Torrington is in desperate need of help. Our police don't even have the right equipment. And our drainage is maxed out,old and undersized. Id say it is time for some action not B.S.

The road is still strewn with potholes...one good thing is that winter is here and it'll be snowing soon. The snow and ice will pack into the holes and make for better driving and easier on the car. Perhaps in the spring the city will be able to patch the holes....just plain disgusted

This road is a joke apparently so is this program. Why hasn't anyone from Town Hall or the DPW driven up Greenwoods Road and addressed the problems? This has been ongoing for 12 months and the road is in shambles.

I heard that Chrysler is going to buy the path called Greenwoods Road and use it for Jeep endurance testing. This road is shameful how about filling the holes with sand at least the holes are filled

Lower Hayden Hill Rdis in terrible shape, just past Nickerson's. A large water culvert or wash out has occured, on the right. There is a street sign to indicate this area. I live in the red house just before this area. The city street crew came months ago and removed the sand bank that held the water to the road. That sand bank was formed from run off the last 20 odd years. When I questions them they said they needed to do something because the area collected with ice during the winter months. They said it was routine maintanence. After 20 years mind you! I reminded them when the houses at the intersection of Hayen Hill and Torringtonford West Street were built the town lost considerable run off area. The first new construction house had a large piped culvert to collect run off from upper Hayden Hill. The then city manager supposedly bought that area and closed off that culvert ,had it landscaped; he had also purchased that very house. The city did a fine job landscaping it for him, as I observed. That was in the late eighties, when money wasn't tight. How long do you think that build up has been occuring, how much money does the city have now to fix it? Will the person who bought the adjacent small lot of 52 Hayden Hill, please come and see what the city has done to it!!! You are now flooded and sand washed and it will only get worse. You own it and pay taxes on it. It is getting to be a swamp, when it starts to cover my property I have all the photos i need to present to the city. I will gladly share with you, as I have documented the problems they are causing to you.

Every time it rains the water comes over the road by Nickersons. This road is nothing more than a pothole ridden course. It appears that the city is going to put a thin coat of asphalt as they are raising the manhole covers. Are they going to fix the collapsed catch basins? I guess this may be a step in the right direction, time will see

i live on greenwoods road and i have already had to replace suspension parts and a bent rim on my wifes car due to the condition of the road. i was happy to see that they might pave it but the road needs to be redone from the base material up. the road heaves in the winter making it 10 times worse. i think ill be moving out of torrington soon as the town is going to hell...
